what a totally different situation in here... and will the new leader carries these elements...

今天，感動了。
在這裡，不是工作了，
而是多年前在這裡曾有過的 …
遺失了很久的感覺…回到身邊
今天所看到的，在攝錄機鏡頭下的流動影像…
因社會道德、政治問題而被刪剪、禁播 …
在這裡， 因為它特殊的位置，
在大銀幕下與一群饑渴的大眾，齊看著它…
感受它的力量…

今個月令我感動的電影也是在這裡看到的…
《頤和園》中男女主角講述這段跨越中國近代政治經濟改革時段、藕斷絲蓮、糾纏不清的(三角/四角?)感情關係。
女主角余紅 那種對感情" 把持不定、既不願投入又放不低、害怕受傷" 的任性態度。「我要與你分開了，因我知道我將不能離開你」(lets break up, cos i know i can never leave you)* 。 尋求性慾上的滿足和短暫的 " companionship"來代替失去的愛情，受傷害的以為只是肉體軀殼，但肉體和精神的步伐卻並不一致，把自己在精神上推向崩潰邊沿。

兩女一男雖經歷時代的變化， 身在不同環境，關係仍糾纏不清直到其中一方退出了，

對方再次碰上，

「現在又怎樣了？」*
一切已無可挽留，昔日的情感隨時間不覺間已變了大家美化了的、理想化的回憶…

導演婁燁那種不拘束獨特的hand held 拍攝手法及具節奏性的剪接，與男女主角的性格及整套電影發生了一種奇妙的關係 。

太多感覺了，只能盡量有組織地把它寫下來…

很喜歡這套電影了，深信有更多人把它在更廣闊的網上討論。

The film looks very simple but it is not at all.

i keep thinking about it , trying to gather all fragments piece by piece, finding connections between them.

not only the linkage between four stories but also linkage within each story itself.

between parents and children ; couple ; family...

Four stories, four families can be seen as " unity" indivdually but what lacking between them is the coummication and understanding which cannot express in words.However, when it comes to the " breaking point", it bursted out into irrational behaviour ...

The Film title " Babel" already speaks for itself

days without internet

由於台灣地震的關係，網絡系統嚴重受障礙。沒有internet 的日子十分不方便 ，上不到msn就像生活缺少了一部份…不知不覺巳進入另一個時代！

父子

After This ... R and i went straight to TST and had 2 pints of beer immediately.
I guess we all felt the same, this film was so "heavy" that we couldnt breath after 160mins.
This unbearable heaviness generates from the simple realistic yet structured narrative specially arranged by the director.It makes me think about L'Argent (1983) by Bresson & The Bicycle Thief (1948) by Vittorio De Sica.(No Offense to the director! , just feel " After" is as powerful as those master works and cant believe i can still able to see it ... esp by the Hong Kong director )

Within a week, i travelled through the rich imaginative world from " the science of sleep" to the " realistic-down-to-earth" life in " After this our Exile".How wonderful to witness different film styles, both are powerful!

" O , that's all? "
my first impression to the exhibition after I glanced through the first and second floor of the gallery within 10 mins.

About 7 pieces of "sculptures" and a videowork were displayed, which were out of my expectation.I anticipated more from " Kee Gor " , as my colleague claimed he is one of the Masters among HK art scene.

I walked back to the beginning and started looking again.

The " emptiness" between the space and "sculptures" allow us to move freely and to explore his works from different presepectives.It also allows you to explore your own body movement while looking at his works. The most interesting part is , the artist allows you to touch and feel his "scultpures".Bit by bit, i start creating my own experience / "linkage" with his works.

I am an outsider on how to distinguish a " good" or " bad" "sculpture" but this is a very new experience for me to encounter sculptures in such an "interactive" way.
Is it only a sculpture?

PS:what a lovely little scone buscuits specially hand made by my colleague!
It matches with this exhibition perfectly: SIMPLE yet Thorough !

怎樣成功堅強的女人 ，也只是普通人……

old and new

everyone is talking about the close of the cin-art today, i took a half day off and went to IFC for a new release of a film...

everyone starts to treasure or to realize the importance of things/ppl when they start to lose it...

instead of reminisces the past, maybe we should look forward and examine why we will lose it in the first place...

dont blame the change of viewing practise from cinema to dvd/cv or illeagal download ; ppl like to spend their money on other enterainment... these are just a bunch of old excuses....

how about using new maketing strategy to reach mass public... ... ? its not an easy answer ....

Just start thinking..think big..think the impossible and make it happen..like the character in " The Science of Sleep". Havent been in Cinema for a while , glad to catch a good one..

um, watching pairs of old couple dancing thru the jazzy nite, this is the moment where i can feel the meaning of "true love" which cannot discribe in word

Life starts getting busy these days and i really miss my last travel trip...its been more than three months from now...

I miss the tranquillity of being with myself...esp the time in the cafe ...

when i look at these photos , i wish that unique moment can substain ...

Little White Flower

Last week i bought four packs of " Little White Flower" in one day...

the first 3 packs were bought at a flower shop.

this one was bought from an old lady in her sixties from a pub in wanchai.

She also sold red roses..but since i was having a drink with my female colleague and no male companion around,

she introduced the " Little white flowers" to us...

the bottom part was supported by a wire and the flower bud was tighten up by a white thread with a tiny knot...

though it costs me 20 bucks, the same cost as the 3 packs ,i appreicate her spirit..what a hardworking lady..

今年冬天，中環天星碼頭將會被移為平地。
民間發起拯救天星行動經已兩個多月，立法會亦開始促請政府暫緩計劃，研究建留天星碼頭及鐘樓的可行辦法。面對各方面的訴求，政府繼續視若無睹，實行「拖字訣」，以「生米已成熟飯」的腔調來敷衍了事。
我們是一班初出茅廬的年青藝術家，由9月開始，每個星期日假天星碼頭一帶，自發進行持續性集體藝術行動，以喚起更多市民對城市環境和歷史保育的關注，以及支持保育天星碼頭及鐘樓。
或許我們行動太遲， 或許我們太年青， 或許我們沒有策略， 或許我們的聲音太渺小。 或許或許........
我們會繼續行動，一直堅持，直至行動能夠引起社會對天星碼頭和鐘樓的關注，直至行動能夠為社會散播一點珍惜歷史文化的種子，直至普羅大眾醒覺自已在社會裡擔當了一個重要角色。

Shakes em Bun !

fianlly got a chance to try the new burger shop!
It's kinda contradictory, while feeling sad about the demolition of the "old pre-historical" buildings in Wan Chai, i am glad to see the opening of new cafes and small food shops , i think Wan chai is going to be a new " soho" area very soon...

Shakes em Bun --> features various kind of milk shakes, burgers and hotdogs

R and i ordered the classic " doggie style " (hotdog) , " missionary " (burger) and Chliie fries. * Better to try the basic food item cos its the easilest way to tell if the food is good or not ! the sausages and the burger steak are very juicy and delicious!

We also ordered " berry delights" and "choco love" milkshakes , choco love is mixed with coco, peanut butter and vanilla ice-cream.. I thought this drink must be ext. sweet & heavy but surprisingly creamy , smooth and not sweet at all! Yum yum! A great meal will wash away all my worries and stress!!

its been nearly 2 months since the trip...
i miss those days so much...it seems like yesterday ...
This cafe reminds me all the wonderful time in Paris,
Agnès b.cafe - le pain grillé --toast (in english) ... this caption appears on every plates and cups.. i dunno the meaning until my best friend groupies and i spent the whole afternoon there...
this place is so warm, relaxing and cozy ... the price is reasonable even with no service charge...
gotta mention the widen range of cakes and pastries for the afternoon delights....
i love this place so much and it will become my fav place for chitchat and girrly talk!
