weddings and a funeral plus etc

...8am - helped my u mate for online wedding registration...
...8pm - attended a furneral ...
...someone just gave birth to her first child...
... someone is waiting for the medical report...
... a farewell to my colleague ...
... a meet up with some long lost friends...
... a beginning (also the end)of a relationship...
...just happened within one day /week ...

dunno y, it makes me think of an old movie "Four weddings and a funeral" , which is back in 1994. From there , i recall this beautiful poem ,just google and you can find it easily...

Funeral Blues

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

-- W.H. Auden

According to the information, this poem was first published as "Song IX" from 'Twelve Songs' (1936); reprinted under the present title in 'Tell me the Truth about Love' (1976)

What ? 1936 ? cant imagine this poem was written at that time, as it still sounds
" modern" to me ...well maybe a slight change to some lines...
Stop all the mobile , cut off the msn/internet(pls forgive me as i am ruining the poem)...
